Following on from our recent news of making the shortlist for the Chamber of Commerce Young Person Award a few days ago, Slurpy Studios has just been made a finalist in the East of England Business Champion Awards 2011, for the category Marketing Innovation.

Creative Director, Katie Steed, has been shortlisted for the 2011 Chamber of Commerce Community Award under the Young Person category.
Congratulations to the other finalists: Russell Gallagher of Bill Chippington Haulage and Katie Cairns of Cardif Pinnacle. The results will be announced at the awards ceremony on 29th September 2011.

Now the dust has settled and we are firmly in, we are happy to announce our move to the new animation studio premises in London Colney.
With excellent transport links (a bus stop right on our door and 3 minutes from M25 juction 22) , the River Colne running past our window, and enough space to bring in some more animators, we think we have found the perfect studio.

Harpenden Directory‘s Keep It Local campaign is a great way to encourage local people to use local shops, businesses and services. We were delighted to produce a short video explaining some of the services they offer and the local businesses on display.
We have had great fun creating a short 20-second clip of animation for Smile for London – an initiative to get films onto the platform’s of the London Underground. Although our piece was not selected as one of the final few, we were more than happy to be shortlisted and enjoyed a great night out at the Museum of London!

We are fast becoming the resident animation experts here in the South East, as Radio BBC Sussex/Surrey called us up again this morning to ask us a few questions about The Flintstones and the impact they have had on animation throughout the past 5o years.
