Animation Workshops
Away from the studio and day to day projects we are involved with an animation workshop for children, run by Wildchild Activities.
Animation is an incredibly fun, inspiring, yet educational activity that children of all ages can engage in. In the one-day workshop – Wild Animation – Wildchild offer the chance for children to learn the history of animation, create their own characters and get their hands dirty by creating their own short animation sequence.
We also organised and run similar workshops at Schools and Universities in Hertfordshire and Surrey.

animation-festivals.com is a hybrid of Wikipedia and the Yellow Pages, but for animation festivals!
animation-festivals.com aims to provide the International animation community with a constantly updated directory of festival listings. The website is completely free to use; our only request is that if you see a listing that is either out of date or incorrect, you edit it. That way the community constantly benefits.
Charity
Slurpy Studios’ local charity, Harpenden Spotlight on Africa, aims to take a rich and prosperous area of England and twin it with an impoverished town in sub-Saharan Africa. The charity has already built a school, which has provided a lifeline for the young people in the town. Now they are working to keep the children in the school, and to provide the whole town with a sustainable future.
On 30th September 2009 we exchanged our pencils and paper for parachutes when we jumped out of an aeroplane from 12,000 feet and in doing so raised over £2000, which HSOA will spend on improving infrastructure and resources for the school.
