We are very proud to announce the relaunch of our website animation-festivals.com!
This website is designed to help animators, producers, students and enthusiasts to keep up with the vast number of animation festivals and events around the world that they can both attend and submit their films to. Festivals are the best way to get a film out in the world, to meet other people in the industry and to watch films that are rarely available outside the festival circuit. Animation-festivals.com was born out of a frustration at the difficulties of doing all those things.
Conceived, designed and built by Slurpy’s Managing Director Aaron Wood, the site is a cross between Yellow Pages and Wikipedia, but for animation festivals. It is a large directory of animation festivals, each listing containing vital information such as the formats to submit a film in, what awards there are and where it is in the world. Visitors can search and browse the information, but they can also add their own festivals, edit existing ones or delete them if they become obsolete. They can also write reviews on each festival, to share their experiences for better or worse, AND they can sign up for a monthly newsletter, which will contain all the necessary information about upcoming festivals and submission deadlines.
We very much hope that this site will prove a valuable resource for the animation industry. We’ve already had some wonderful feedback from Producers and Directors around the world, and new festivals are being added on a daily basis.
Let us know if you are using the site, if you find it useful and if there’s anything else that we could add it make it even better.
