September 2012 saw Tarisio announce the acquisition of Cozio, and they decided to celebrate and share this news with a short animated film, detailing how the process of buying a violin has changed significantly over history and how they will take that process in to the future.

We designed this film knowing that we needed to visit both past and future, and so chose a style that was timeless – allowing the details, such as clothing and furniture to provide any necessary information about where and when each scene was set. The characters were designed to work only in profile, meaning that the film was staged in a very flat, 2-dimensional way to hi-light the repetitious nature of history and emphasise both what has changed, and what has not.

This whiteboard animation, created for Hire the Barman, takes viewers step-by-step through the process of using their service, answers the common questions that are raised by visitors to the site and creates a long lasting impression. This style of animation, which features a hand illustrating the narrator’s words, is a fantastic way of livening up a soliloque and getting across a lot of information without losing the audience’s attention.

To create the ‘wow’ effect that Hire the Barman were looking for, we took that concept of an animated lecture one step further; animating the drawings as the hand creates them, to make a fun, dynamic and fast paced film. We also chose to use splashes of colour, to help the film stand out visually and to show Hire The Barman as the vibrant company that it is.

GL Assessment is a leading provider of independent tests for school aged children. They wanted their explainer video to convey the information that a potential partner will need to understand, using the visuals to hi-light the messages and enhance GL Assessment’s brand and desirability.

We chose a stop motion style of animation, and set it in the ultimate learning environment; a school desk. We then created several characters, designed to look as though they’d been drawn and cut out by a child, and used them to tell the story, along with several desk style props. This created a hand-made feeling, getting straight to the heart of the message with a simple and effective technique.

This explainer video was designed to explain the benefits, rewards and process of investing through Seedrs, while appealing to two distinctly different target audiences; investors and entrepreneurs.

With two target audiences, each with their own needs and concerns to address, we decided to use two characters to represent the different sides of the equation.

Using character animation, motion graphics and typography, the film follows our investor (Warren) as he struggles through traditional methods of providing start up capital, before discovering Seedrs and using it to help our Entrepreneur (Steve) as he raises the capital and launches his business.

The guys at The Hangova have come up with a unique business idea – they help make sure hen parties and stag dos are the most memorable time of peoples’ lives by creating and personalising booklets filled with all the relevant information. Some times the problem with having a unique business model, is that it can be difficult to explain it in a way that gets across all the relevant information while retaining the audiences interest.

So, they approached us to make a fun, lively and original promotional video, and we responded with a short film that was created by photographing the heads of real people against a green screen and them compositing them on 2D animated bodies.
